Every second year, patient organizations from across the Nordic countries come together for a unique congress where the patient perspective leads the way. In 2026, Swedish breast cancer association is proud to host the 17th edition of the Nordic Congress on Breast Cancer. A gathering that inspires, empowers, and drives progress for everyone affected by breast cancer.
Strengthens the voice of patients
This congress is much more than a meeting. It is a vibrant hub for sharing insights, building knowledge, and strengthening the voice of patients throughout the Nordic region. Here, participants explore the latest developments in breast cancer care, exchange experiences from everyday life with breast cancer, and shape visions for the future.
Fosters empowering networks
Although the Nordic countries are often seen as similar, the conferences repeatedly reveal significant differences in screening routines, early detection, access to new treatments, patient involvement, and rehabilitation opportunities. By highlighting these variations, the Nordic Congress on Breast Cancer provides valuable insights that help drive meaningful improvements in care — always with the patient perspective at the center.
Over the years, the conference has also fostered a strong and invaluable social network. These connections continue to grow and empower us when we meet in broader international contexts.
Who is it for?
The congress is primarily aimed at patient representatives from the Nordic countries: Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Sweden. We are also inviting a limited number of representatives from our European partner organization, Europa Donna.
